Modern Day Slavey Statement
For the Financial Year Ending 31 March 2025

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Cajuncy Ltd. has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

At Cajuncy Ltd., we are deeply committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. As a staffing agency, we recognise our unique and critical role in safeguarding individuals from exploitation. We are dedicated to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our own operations, within our network of candidates and clients, or in any part of our broader supply chains. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.

1. Our Business and Organisational Structure
Cajuncy Ltd. is a provider of temporary and permanent staffing solutions. Our core business involves connecting qualified candidates with employment opportunities across various sectors, including Catering & Hospitality. We operate primarily in the United Kingdom, with locations in London. We employ internal staff and place hundreds of candidates annually.
Our services include temporary staffing, permanent recruitment, executive search, and managed service provision.

2. Our Supply Chains and Labour Chains
For a staffing agency, our "supply chain" is fundamentally intertwined with the labour chain – the journey of individuals from recruitment to placement and employment. This involves:
-
Our own internal workforce: Employees directly employed by Cajuncy Ltd..
-
Our candidate pool: Individuals seeking employment, including temporary, contract, and permanent workers. This includes both directly sourced candidates and, where applicable, candidates provided by reputable third-party recruitment partners.
-
Our client organisations: Businesses and entities with whom we place candidates. We recognise that the working conditions at client sites form a critical part of the labour chain we facilitate.
-
Support Services: Traditional suppliers of goods and services such as IT providers, office supplies, cleaning services, and professional services.
We recognise that the recruitment and placement of individuals, particularly vulnerable or migrant workers, carries inherent risks of modern slavery, including illegal recruitment fees, debt bondage, forced labour, and exploitation. Our commitment extends to mitigating these risks at every stage of the process.

3. Our Policies on Modern Slavery
Cajuncy Ltd. operates the following policies that underpin our approach to the identification and prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking:
-
Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy: This policy explicitly prohibits modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation, candidate network, and client engagements. It outlines our zero-tolerance approach and the responsibilities of all employees, candidates, and business partners.
-
Ethical Recruitment Policy: Specifically tailored for a staffing agency, this policy outlines our commitment to ethical recruitment practices, ensuring no fees are charged to candidates, transparency in job offers, and respect for worker rights.
-
Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all our employees, candidates, clients, and other business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery, unethical recruitment, or exploitative practices. Our confidential whistleblowing procedure is designed to protect those who raise concerns in good faith.
-
Code of Conduct: Our Code of Conduct sets out the ethical standards and behaviours expected of all internal employees, emphasising respect for human rights, fair labour practices, and adherence to all labour laws.
-
Client Terms of Business / Supplier Code of Conduct: Our agreements with clients and any third-party recruitment partners include clauses requiring their adherence to relevant anti-slavery legislation, ethical labour practices, and our own standards

4. Due Diligence Processes for Modern Slavery
Cajuncy Ltd. undertakes robust due diligence processes for our own operations, our candidates, and our clients:
-
Internal Operations: Regular internal audits to ensure compliance with our own policies and labour laws.
-
Candidate Vetting:
-
Right to Work Checks: Rigorous checks to ensure all candidates have the legal right to work in the UK.
-
Identity Verification: Robust identity verification processes.
-
No Recruitment Fees: Strict policy and monitoring to ensure no recruitment fees are charged to candidates.
-
Transparency: Clear communication of job roles, terms of employment, pay, and working conditions to candidates.
-
Direct Engagement: Where possible, we aim for direct engagement with candidates to minimise the risk of third-party exploitation.
-
-
Client Onboarding & Monitoring:
-
Client Due Diligence: Assessing new and existing clients for their commitment to ethical labour practices and compliance with modern slavery legislation. This may include reviewing their own modern slavery statements (where applicable).
-
Site Visits/Audits: For higher-risk sectors or clients, we may conduct or request assurances regarding working conditions and adherence to labour standards at their sites where our candidates are placed.
-
Contractual Clauses: Our client contracts explicitly require compliance with modern slavery legislation and the provision of a safe and exploitation-free working environment for our placed candidates.
-
-
Third-Party Recruitment Partners (if applicable): Where we work with other agencies or referral partners, they undergo stringent vetting processes, including review of their modern slavery policies, ethical recruitment practices, and contractual commitments to our standards.

5. Risk Assessment and Management
We identify and assess potential modern slavery risks inherent in the staffing industry and take steps to manage them:
-
Vulnerable Workers: Particular attention is paid to candidates who may be more vulnerable to exploitation, such as migrant workers or those without strong local language skills. Enhanced due diligence and support mechanisms are put in place.
-
High-Risk Sectors/Geographies: Identifying client sectors or geographical regions where there is a higher prevalence of modern slavery or forced labour risks (e.g., certain agricultural, construction, or manufacturing environments).
-
Illegal Recruitment Fees/Debt Bondage: Vigilant monitoring and strict policies to prevent candidates from being charged illegal fees or coerced into debt bondage as a condition of employment.
-
Exploitation at Client Sites: While not directly employing candidates on client sites, we recognise our responsibility to identify and address concerns regarding working conditions, pay, or treatment of our placed candidates. We maintain open communication channels for feedback.
Where risks are identified, we aim to work collaboratively with our clients or partners to implement corrective actions. In cases of serious non-compliance or unresolved issues, we will take appropriate action, which may include suspension or termination of relationships.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To measure the effectiveness of the steps we are taking to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our business or supply chains, we monitor the following KPIs:
-
Number of internal staff trained on modern slavery and ethical recruitment practices.
-
Number of client and candidate complaints or concerns raised regarding unethical practices or potential exploitation.
-
Percentage of new clients screened for modern slavery risk.
-
Percentage of existing clients reviewed for modern slavery compliance annually.
-
Confirmation of zero recruitment fees charged to candidates.
-
Number of audits or site visits conducted at higher-risk client locations.

7. Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking across our business, we provide comprehensive training to our employees:
-
Mandatory Training: All internal employees, especially those involved in recruitment, sales, compliance, and human resources, receive regular, mandatory training on modern slavery awareness, ethical recruitment practices, and how to identify and report signs of exploitation.
-
Induction Training: New employees receive modern slavery awareness as part of their induction process.
-
Specialised Training: Specific training for recruiters on identifying red flags, conducting ethical interviews, and managing vulnerable candidate situations.
